Party leader suggests Vietnam, Laos share experience in decision making

(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary To Lam on Monday proposed measures to strengthen relations between the two National Assemblies of Vietnam and Laos, including continued exchange and experience sharing in building and perfecting institutions, legal systems, supreme supervision and deciding on momentous national issues.

At a meeting with Lao National Assembly President Saysomphone Phomvihane in Vientiane, Mr. Lam said the two legislature improve institutions and policies to facilitate the effective implementation of the high-level agreements of the two countries' Politburos and the cooperation agreement between the two Governments.

General Secretary Lam shared with Lao top legislator the successful results of his talks with General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith. The two sides agreed to elevate the Vietnam-Laos relationship to the level of "Great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, strategic cohesion", demonstrating a shared vision, intertwined strategic interests and long-term companionship for sustainable development, self-reliance and prosperity.

The Lao National Assembly President said he will closely coordinate with the Vietnamese National Assembly to effectively implement the supervision of high-level agreements and cooperation agreements, especially important economic projects, to contribute to deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam.

No matter how the situation develops, the great relationship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos will not change, he stressed.

After the meeting, both leaders attended the launching ceremony of the e-book "50 years of relations between the Vietnamese and Lao National Assembly, comprehensive cooperation and development" at the Lao National Assembly House.
