During his working trip to Da Nang city, Party leader Lam on Saturday chaired a working session with the Standing Board of the Da Nang City Party Committee and the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee.
All institutional reforms must be for the practical and long-term interests of the people and for the country to develop sustainably in the future, General Secretary Lam said and explained the purpose of the ongoing reform of the administrative apparatus and merger.
“Repositioning the natural and economic development space, connecting history, culture and geography, thereby expanding the development vision, forming an administrative-economic entity with a large enough scale, strong enough governance capacity and high enough competitiveness to deeply integrate into the global value chain," he added.
"Conditions will be created for Vietnam to develop more evenly and establish new economic centers with higher competitiveness both regionally and globally. This will help reduce management levels, shorten work processing procedures, reallocate resources, and focus resources on priorities.”
Mr. Lam stressed the need to build Da Nang into a growth pole of Vietnam and a city with high competitiveness in the Asia-Pacific region.
