The ceremony marked the 95th founding anniversary of the municipal Party Committee, the 50th anniversary of the city’s liberation and the First Class Labor Order given to Da Nang.

The General Secretary said what Da Nang has achieved in recent years means a lot  to the city and also contributes remarkably to the development of the region and Vietnam. He suggested that Da Nang promote a spirit of dynamism and creativity, effectively tap specific mechanisms and policies, and create new momentum to develop on par with cities in the region and the world.

“Da Nang must be a place where tourism, ecological and cultural resources blend to create attractiveness and identity. Together with Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, and Hue, Da Nang can be both a driving force for economic development of Vietnam and a symbol and pride in overcoming obstacles and moving forward. It should be a new model of socialism with Da Nang’s unique characteristics.”

Mr. Lam suggested that the city focus on a leaner political system that operates in an effective, efficient and friendly manner, as well as consolidating solidarity within the Party and the entire political system, and fostering consensus among the people. Da Nang needs to effectively implement its 2021-2030 planning, with a vision to 2050, he said.
