Peace vital to global inclusive development

(VOVworld) – Maintaining peace is vital to global inclusive development, said Vietnam’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga at a Monday UN Security Council debate.

She said Vietnam shares the multinational viewpoint of a close relationship between peace, security, and development and that taking into account the demands and interests of individuals from all social strata will help prevent conflict and sustain peace and stability. The Vietnam State works to ensure its national development policies reflect equality and non-discriminatory attitudes and benefit the poor, ethnic minorities, women, and children, she confirmed. As a result, she said, Vietnam has achieved progress in poverty alleviation, peace maintenance, and socio-economic development.
