Pepper finds way back into group of billion-USD export items
(VOVWORLD) - The encouraging export turnover since the beginning of this year has created momentum for Vietnamese pepper to return to the group of billion-USD export items by year-end.
The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) reported that Vietnam exported nearly 165,000 tonnes of pepper, worth 764 million USD, as of July. Export turnover is expected to hit the one billion USD mark in 2024.
The US was the largest importer of Vietnamese pepper, followed by Germany and the UAE in the reviewed period.
