(VOVWORLD) -The 500kV circuit 3 transmission line spanning 500km from Quang Trach (Quang Binh province) to Pho Noi (Hung Yen province) was inaugurated at a ceremony on Thursday in Hung Yen.

Attending the inauguration ceremony were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the main venue in Hung Yen, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha at the venue in Thai Binh province, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long at the venue in Thanh Hoa province, and Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc from Ha Tinh province.
Great efforts were made to inaugurate the key national project on the National Day, September 2, after six months of construction.
The transmission line will increase inter-regional transmission capacity from the current 2,200 MW to about 5,000 MW, equivalent to over 20 billion kWh of commercial electricity supply to the North annually.
With a total investment capital of one billion USD, the project is intended to increase power capacity from the central region to the north and ensure electricity supply for people’s daily lives and socio-economic development.
