The PM urged Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces to plan new development spaces along the expressways to maximize the benefits of the projects, while also ensuring improved living conditions for relocated residents.

At Phu Cat Airport, PM Chinh requested that stakeholders accelerate progress by three months, aiming to put the project into operation by early Q3 instead of September 2026 as originally scheduled.

The Quang Ngai – Hoai Nhơn Expressway stretches 88 kilometers across Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces and forms part of the eastern section of the North-South Expressway. Construction began in early 2023 and the entire route has now been completed.

The Hoai Nhon – Quy Nhon Expressway, 70 kilometers long and running through Gia Lai Province, is now 99.9% complete.

The second runway and associated facilities project at Phu Cat Airport broke ground in September last year. Test flights are scheduled for July this year, enabling the airport to accommodate aircraft such as the Airbus A320, Airbus A321 and equivalent models.
