PM meets embassy staff, Vietnamese community in Czech Republic
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic on Saturday as part his official visit to the European nation.

According to Ambassador Duong Hoai Nam, trade between Vietnam and the Czech Republic has doubled over the past five years to 3.8 billion USD in 2024, of which Vietnam exported 3.3 billion USD worth of products to the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is the first country in the EU to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA).
The Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic now numbers 100,000 people, the 3rd largest ethnic minority community in the country and the 3rd largest Vietnamese community in Europe, Ambassador Nam said.
PM Chinh praised the continuous growth of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and said his visit aims to raise relations between the two countries to a new level, kick off the celebration of the 75th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations, and promote cooperation in multiple areas.
He emphasized that the world has changed a lot, but the relationship between Vietnam and the Czech Republic has not been affected, and their long-standing traditions are increasingly consolidated and strengthened.
PM Chinh is expected to ask Czech Republic authorities to continue creating more favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to maximize their potential and contribute to the development of the Czech Republic and the friendly relations between the two countries.
