Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc

The meeting in Hanoi on Wednesday was the third on the issue that the PM has chaired.  Mr. Phuc told participants that coastal erosion and sediment deposition at river mouths have grown complex and severe. He urged the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to gauge the erosion situation and work out solutions in line with socio-economic development of localities. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said: “We must protect citizens’ lives and property and cultural heritages and minimize damage in affected areas. Localities must be more active in socio-economic development planning.”

PM Phuc ordered ministries, sectors, and localities to strengthen application of scientific and technological advances in handling coast erosion and sediment deposition at river mouths.
