PM receives executives of Japan’s leading economic groups

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Saturday received leaders of some of Japan's leading economic corporations in health, energy, and oil and gas, as part of his trip to Japan to attend the Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation and engage in bilateral activities.

Meeting with Takagi Kuninori, Chairman of the International University of Health and Welfare, Prime Minister Chinh welcomed their plan to build a hospital of Japanese standards in Vietnam. Mr. Chinh said that the Vietnamese government will direct the Ministry of Health and local People's Committees to offer favorable conditions for the project to run smoothly. He proposed that Mr. Kuninori continues to promote cooperation with Vietnam in training high-quality medical human resources and increase scholarships for Vietnamese students studying at International University of Health and Welfare.

Chairman Kuninori expressed his wish to continue cooperating with Vietnam in training medical students in Japan and to build a hospital large and modern enough for medical examination and treatment for the Vietnamese people.

Receiving Hidenori Harada President and CEO of MOECO Group, a global firm involved in mining, energy, equipment, chemicals, food, textiles, and finance, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh proposed that MOECO expands investment and business activities in Vietnam. He affirmed that Vietnam will support and create favorable conditions for Japanese companies to operate effectively and sustainably in Vietnam.

At a meeting with Susumu Nibuya, Vice Chairman and CEO of Idemitsu Kosan Co.Ltd Group, Prime Minister Chinh asked the company and its partners to coordinate in governance, finance, and input fuel source restructuring, along with building effective operation procedures, and applying modern technology to environmental protection.
