(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received the Governor of the US State of Oregon Kate Brown in Hanoi on Tuesday. He said that Vietnam wants to deepen its cooperation with the US and is optimistic about its future relations with the US. He confirmed his support for cooperation between the government of Oregon and relevant Vietnamese ministries and agencies in a number of areas including search and rescue, addressing the aftermath of natural disasters, innovative economy, environmental protection, clean energy, agriculture,, education, training, and cultural exchanges. He praised the success of Oregon businesses such as Nike and Intel and said that Vietnam encourages investments by Oregon and US businesses.

Governor Brown expressed her optimism about US investments in Vietnam following the signing of the TPP. She said that in addition to search and rescue the state of Oregon is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in economics, trade, clean energy, sustainable development, climate change mitigation, environmental protection, education, training, and culture.
