PM’s Russia visit to launch energy cooperation projects

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will lead a high-level Vietnamese delegation on an official visit to the Russian Federation from Sunday to Wednesday, at the invitation of Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin. 

According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, the official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Russia is a practical step in implementing Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation, and development, which is multilateral and diversified. “The visit has comprehensive significance, contributing to developing the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership strongly, substantively, effectively, and sustainably."

"The two sides will exchange views on major cooperation directions, including the launching of specific cooperation projects serving Vietnam's current development goals such as new energy, infrastructure and transport connectivity, high technology, biomedicine, healthcare, and training of high-quality human resources. These are areas where Russia has strengths and experience,” Deputy FM Hang said.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi said he believes that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit will strengthen bilateral relations and promote opportunities for international cooperation such as cooperation with Russia to support Vietnam's future development.

The visit will also expand cooperation between Vietnam and Russia in economics, trade, especially investment, energy, and oil and gas. During this visit, the two sides are expected to sign a series of important agreements on nuclear power plant projects, energy cooperation, and oil and gas.
