(VOVworld)- Vietnam and Belarus have strengthened traditional friendship and promote bilateral cooperation. During talks between Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Belarusian counterpart Mikhail Myasnikovich in Minsk on Thursday, both agreed to accelerate the performance of their joint governmental committee and negotiation for a free trade agreement with the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. They pledged to boost military, cultural, educational and technological cooperation. A joint communiqué and several cooperative documents were signed following the talks.

Speaking to reporters, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said: “We focused on measures to increase bilateral trade, ensure trade balance, and increase investment between the two countries in the coming time. We agreed to strengthen the efficiency of the Intergovernmental Committee and committed to implement targets set out at the Economic Cooperation Program in the 2013-2015 period. We reached consensus on measures to assist import and export activities between the two countries, accelerate the negotiation of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan. Both sides appreciated the bilateral cooperation on military technology, a potential area for bilateral cooperation because they two countries enjoy high political trust and will further enhance cooperation in this field”
