Prime Minister promotes cooperation projects with UK

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday received leaders of a number of businesses and universities in Edinburgh, Scotland, as part of his trip to the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) and visit to the UK.

The Prime Minister told Professor Mohammed Abdel, Rector of the University of Liverpool and a representative of the Hume Research Institute of Switzerland, to continue coordinating with Vietnam in training human resources and developing strategies, policies and mechanisms in response to climate change and emerging epidemics. Professor Abdel agreed and said he will promote practical cooperation projects with Vietnam.

Meeting with Pacific Land Group President Patrick McKillen, Prime Minister Chinh applauded the Group's projects in Vietnam, especially the Biotechnology Park project in Hanoi, which he said contributes to the response to climate change and emerging diseases. He asked Pacific Land to closely coordinate with the Hanoi People's Committee to promote the Biotechnology Park project and ensure its effectiveness.

Receiving Jardine Matheson Group Director Adam Keswick and country chairman of Jardine Matheson Vietnam Alain Cany, the Prime Minister welcomed the Group's cooperation with large Vietnamese enterprises like Truong Hai Thaco and Vinamilk, and expressed his support for the Group's plan to expand its business in Vietnam.
