Program on legendary 17th Parallel aspires for peace, prosperity

(VOVWORLD) -An art program with the theme “The 17th Parallel - Aspiration for Peace”, was held on Friday in Quang Tri, recalling the North-South divide of Vietnam during wartime and promoting the image of a developing Quang Tri province.

The program included two main parts: the ceremony and the political art program, which focused on five topics "July Days", "As if there has never been a separation", "Blood and flowers", "A place to see the strength of Vietnam", and "The land of steel blooms".

Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee’s Communications and Education Commission, and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, addressed the opening ceremony. 

“We hope that the program "The 17th Parallel - Aspiration for Peace" which honors immortal values will give us pride, faith and love for the past, thereby passing on the energy of the past to the present and future. Let's work together wholeheartedly for the most beautiful dreams to soon become true in our beloved homeland, our country," Minh said.

The Program introduced the 17th Parallel as a new Quang Tri that is flourishing day by day, a tourist destination that is connecting people at home and abroad, connecting the past and present and working towards a peaceful and beautiful future.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong said: “From the 17th Parallel, today, we once again express the strong determination of the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army in the cause of protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland. The heroic echoes of history will create an endless source of strength for today's and future generations to steadily step on the revolutionary path, carry out the sacred will of beloved Uncle Ho, and build a prosperous and happy Vietnam.”

During the program, the organizers, businesses, and sponsors handed over 10 houses to families with revolutionary contributions, presented 500 gifts to policy families in particularly difficult circumstances and 200 scholarships to poor, studious students in Quang Tri province.
