The armed forces uncovered a plot targeting a Christian church in Rafah, Sinai Peninsula, near the Gaza border. Egyptian armed forces seized a car full of explosives and weapons near the church saw masked attackers fleeing in other cars. The plan was reportedly to attack a military barracks involved in building the church. There is no information about who was behind the planned attack, but according to one source, the culprits may be Islamic extremists tracked by Egyptian security forces over the last few months.
