Russia, DPRK leaders reiterate resolve to foster cooperation

(VOVWORLD) -Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with DPRK leader Kim Jong Un in the capital Pyongyang on Wednesday during his two-day visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

President Putin affirmed that the cooperative relationship between Moscow and Pyongyang is based on the principles of equality and respect for each other’s interests. He also expressed appreciation for North Korea’s support for Russia’s policies.

DPRK leader Kim said that his country is determined to promote strategic cooperation with Russia, as the relationship between Moscow and Pyongyang is entering a new and prosperous period.
Kim affirmed Pyongyang’s full support for Russia’s policies. Earlier the same day, an official welcome ceremony for President Putin was held at the Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang.
