(VOVworld) - Diplomats from Russia, the United States, and the United Nations plan to discuss the Syrian crisis in Geneva next week, said Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov Monday. He said Moscow is still waiting for confirmation from Washington.

Last week the US fired 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at an airbase in Syria in response to a chemical attack in Idlib. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the US strike an "aggression against a sovereign state in violation of international law”. The Syrian government insisted it never has and never will use chemical weapons.
