The festival, which has been held every Lunar New Year since 2012, has become a cherished cultural experience for both local residents and visitors.
This year’s festival offers a ceremony to honor ancestors and celebrate the flower-growing heritage of Sa Dec, a concert featuring songs about Dong Thap and Sa Dec, an exhibition of ornamental plants from the Mekong Delta, a street food competition, a fashion show called “Colors of Sa Giang,” and a display of OCOP products.

Sa Dec flower village has become one of the region’s most popular tourist destinations, attracting nearly a million visitors each year, including 2,000 foreign tourists. In 2024 the Sa Dec Flower and Ornamental Festival drew 245,000 visitors, raising the city’s profile on the national tourism map. The festival has played a key role in promoting the local flower and ornamental plant industry, opening doors for future collaborations, and expanding market opportunities.
