South Korea, US, Japan pledge cooperation to respond to North Korea
(VOVworld) - The military chiefs of South Korea, the United States and Japan agreed Friday to work closely together to "firmly respond" to North Korean provocations and urged Pyongyang to refrain from irresponsible acts. At the meeting the three military leaders discussed the North's fifth nuclear test and a series of missile launches.

They reconfirmed the tests were flagrant violations of UN Security Council resolutions and agreed to firmly respond to the acts in coordination with each other.
They called upon North Korea to refrain from irresponsible provocations that aggravate regional tensions, and to instead focus on fulfilling its international obligations and commitments.
The senior military leaders agreed to continue working together to further mutual security issues in order to enhance peace and stability in the region.
