(VOVworld) - State President Truong Tan Sang has called on Vietnamese people to plant and protect forests for a sustainable ecological environment.
While launching a tree planting festival in Thanh Hoa province on Friday, Sang said that Vietnam was one of countries most vulnerable to climate change. “I call on everyone to join the movement to protect and plant trees. Forest plantation and protection will preserve the ecological environment.”
President Sang also paid his tribute at the Memorial Monument to heroic Vietnamese mothers and war martyrs at the Ham Rong relic site.
On the same day, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong attended the launch of a tree planting festival in Hoa Binh province. She called on the local authorities and people to join together and promote the tree planting movement, which is already a cultural tradition among the ethnic groups of the province.
