(VOVWORLD) - A study conducted in the US has found that the Omicron variant acts as a natural vaccine of coronavirus, and can end this epidemic by the end of this year, according to India’s news site dnaindia.
According to the study, the faster Omicron spreads, the faster it will replace the more dangerous Delta variant. It also said that Omicron is more contagious, but in most cases, it does not require the patient to be hospitalized. Rather, its symptoms go away in four to five days.
In the Delta variant, 30 patients out of every 100 had to be hospitalized within three to four days of infection. But in Omicron, this figure is only 10 to 13 patients out of every 100. And 50% of these patients do not need extra oxygen, according to the study.
