Ten more Vietnamese officers join UN peacekeeping operation

(VOVWORLD) - An additional 10 Vietnamese officers have been sent to the UN peacekeeping operation in the Central African Republic and South Sudan.

Addressing a ceremony in Hanoi on Tuesday, Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh urged the officers to promote international friendship and solidarity, and prove their capacity in all aspects of their mission.

Mr. Vinh, who is head of the Ministry’s steering committee for UN peacekeeping activities, asked the officers to give timely advice to the military leaders about UN peacekeeping-related issues.

He called for more effort to uphold the image and reputation of the Vietnam People’s Army soldiers.
