Textile and garment industry shifts to adapt in new context

(VOVWORLD) - The textile and garment industry aims to reach an export turnover of 48 billion USD this year.

To overcome challenges posed by global markets and geopolitical impacts, it’s necessary to advance green transformation, digital transformation, and circular economy, said Le Tien Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Textile and Garment Group.

“In order to develop and maintain its position in the global textile and garment supply chain, Vietnam must transform its business model from individual units to a unified bloc with competitive advantages. They should fully leverage their relations for chain production, from raw material to garment production. It’s important to develop textile and garment design capabilities and become a comprehensive solution provider for global brands,” Mr. Tien said.

As of April 15, Vietnam’s textile and garment export turnover reached nearly 12 billion USD, an increase of 8.7% compared to the same period last year.
