(VOVworld) – Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan survived a vote of no confidence in parliament.

The House Speaker Somsak Kiatsuranont said Prime Minister Yingluck won the vote of confidence with 297 lawmakers voting in her favor and 134 against. Interior Minister Charupong Ruangsuwan did almost as well, keeping his position by a margin of
296 – 135. The vote took place following 3 days of debate in the lower house, in which the opposition party questioned Mrs. Yingluck on the water management plan worth 108 million USD and the government’s intervention regarding rice exports.
