Thailand pledges to hold a general election in 2017
(VOVworld) – Thai Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon said on Monday that there will definitely be a general election in 2017, whether the draft constitution passes the upcoming referendum or not.

He said the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has detailed plans to deal with whatever the referendum result might be, to ensure that there will be an election in 2017.
Thailand’s Constitution Drafting Committee finished a final draft charter and delivered it to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha on March 29th. Preparations are underway for a public referendum scheduled for August 7th.
