The UN gives special support to Vietnam’s peace-keeping mission
(VOVworld) – The United Nations will give special support to Vietnam regarding its participation in UN peace-keeping. UN Under-Secretary-General for Field Support, Atul Khare, said at a meeting on Friday with a delegation of Vietnam’s Ministry of Defense, led by Lieutenant General Tran Van Minh, Chief of the Policy Department of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.

Commenting on the ability of Vietnamese officers, assistant Secretary-general for peacekeeping operations Edmond Mullet said Vietnamese officers were well-trained and had effectively fulfilled their missions. He said that he hoped Vietnam would continue to contribute to efforts to raise the UN’s prestige and position in peace-keeping campaigns on the global scale.
