Over the past 47 years of development, the NDA has played a crucial role in implementing the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, and the State's policies and laws, as well as directions from the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense; training and developing personnel; providing strategic advice on national defense, security, and military matters; building the armed forces; and combining socio-economic and cultural development with national defense and security.

In his address, Party General Secretary and President To Lam said: "The primary goal of training at the Academy is to develop a modern cadre with modern thinking and working methods. The training content must align closely with national defense and security tasks and the Army’s development. It should offer a deep theoretical foundation, practical richness, and incorporate new knowledge of modern military science, particularly concerning the theory and practice of defending the nation in the current context."

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized the importance of developing the Academy into a leading regional center for military science and military arts research. He expressed confidence that with 47 years of tradition, growth, and experience, the National Defense Academy will continue to make significant contributions to the mission of building and defending the Fatherland in the new era.
