Top leader stresses importance of personnel preparation for Party Congress

(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, Head of the Sub-committee on Personnel Work for the 14th National Party Congress, chaired the second session of the Sub-committee on Wednesday in Hanoi.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man were among the attendants.
At the meeting, members of the Subcommittee commented on the content of draft documents on the Party's personnel work.
In his concluding remarks, General Secretary and President To Lam stressed the importance of personnel work and the preparation of personnel for the 14th National Party Congress. It should inherit great ideology and specific direction of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, he said. In particular, personnel results of the 13th Party Central Committee must be taken as an important basis for building the personnel direction of the 14th Congress.

The top leader requested that the Party Congress's personnel work be done urgently and cautiously, ensuring solidarity and unity within the Party as well as the maintenance of the Party's leadership and ruling role.
Personnel considered for selection must be officials with leadership capacity, professional qualifications, and prestige among the people and within the Party, who must put the interests of the Party, country, and people first, he said.
