Top leader To Lam visits Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League relic site in Guangdong

(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife on Sunday morning arrived at Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou city, Guangdong province, starting a state-level visit to China. 

Welcoming the Vietnamese top leader at the airport were Governor of Guangdong province Wang Weizhong, Mayor of Guangzhou city Sun Zhiyang, and Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo.

Shortly after their arrival, General Secretary and President To Lam, his wife and the delegation came to pay tribute to Martyr Pham Hong Thai in the Huang Hua Gang Memorial Park, and visited the relic site of the headquarters of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League.

At Huang Hua Gang Cemetery Park, a cultural tourism address of Guangzhou city, General Secretary and President To Lam, his wife and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation offered flowers and incense to commemorate Martyr Pham Hong Thai and merits of revolutionary predecessors. In front of the tomb, there is a large stele written in simplified Chinese characters recounting the heroic actions of martyr Pham Hong Thai, with the words "Tomb of martyr Pham Hong Thai" in Vietnamese and Chinese.

Afterwards, Mr. To Lam and the delegation visited relic site of the headquarters of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League, located at house No 13, now 248 and 250, Wen Ming street, Guangzhou city, a place associated with the revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh from 1924 to 1927.

General Secretary and President To Lam wrote in the guestbook “The delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam was deeply moved to visit the relic of the Headquarters of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League, where beloved President Ho Chi Minh spent years of revolutionary activities, a place that trained the first generations of loyal communists in Vietnam, a place that witnessed pure international communist sentiment, and traditional friendship, solidarity, bonding, "both comrades and brothers" between the two Parties, the two countries and the two peoples of Vietnam and China. Sincerely thank the Party and State of China, the Party Committee and the Government of Guangdong province for always paying attention to preserving the relics of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Youth League Headquarters. May the Vietnam-China friendship last forever!"

In 1971, the State of the People's Republic of China decided to preserve house No. 13 Wen Ming street as a relic of President Ho Chi Minh, which is named "Headquarters of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth League". It has been classified as a National Historical and Cultural Relic of China.
