Top leader visits school named after President Ho Chi Minh in Ulaanbaatar

(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary and State President To Lam on Tuesday visited Inter-Level School No.14 named after President Ho Chi Minh in the Mongolian capital city of Ulaanbaatar, as part of his ongoing state visit to Mongolia.

The top leader said he hopes that the school's teachers and students will continue promoting their glorious tradition, completing their tasks and missions, meeting the expectation of Mongolian people, deserving its name, and contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries.

He presented 50,000 USD from the Vietnamese Party and State to support the school in upgrading its teaching equipment in preparation for the new academic year. Meanwhile, the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Hanoi also provided gifts, and the Vietnam National University-Hanoi awarded scholarships to the school.

Established in 1949, the school is one of the key institutions for training talents for Mongolia. To mark the 90th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh in 1980, Mongolia decided to name the school after him.

In 2009, the monument in tribute of President Ho Chi Minh was built on the school's campus. In 2017, the Ho Chi Minh Traditional Hall was inaugurated. The school has established a Vietnamese language club, attracting many students.
