Tree planting festival launched in Y Lan Temple, Gia Lam district, Hanoi

(VOVworld)- Tree planting festivals have been launched in various cities and provinces including Hanoi, Hai Duong, Phu Yen, Hung Yen and Quang Ngai. In the temple dedicated to former royal concubine Y Lan on the outskirts of Hanoi, 240 young people planted more than 100 trees. Gia Lam district intends to plant 20,000 trees this year.

Launching the festival, Hai Duong province hopes to raise people’s awareness about environmental protection. The province wants to plant 1 million trees this year. Young people in Phu Yen province planted 500 trees on Friday and hope to plant 1 million trees this year. Meanwhile, more than 120,000 trees are expected to be planted in Hung Yen province. On Friday, Quang Ngai province planted 1,500 trees in different areas in the province. On Ly Son island, more than 1,000 trees were planted the same day.
