Children registered in Greece, Italy or France before March 20 will be eligible for resettlement in the UK, but he added that Britain will stick to its principles and not be taking in new arrivals to Europe as a precedence. The specified number will not be published until discussions with local authorities take place. Officials said that by April, 2015, there had been 95,000 children registered to flee to Europe, 4 times higher than the number reported in April, 2014

The UK has opted not to take part in the refugee relocation scheme for EU members. Last year the UK announced that it would accept 20,000 refugees from regional camps over the next 5 years.
