(VOVWORLD) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Tuesday that the timing of the next trilateral talks with Russia and the US is still undecided, leaving open the possibility that the talks could take place next week.
According to the Ukrinform news agency, Zelensky said the US had proposed holding a new round of talks involving Ukraine and Russia. The meeting was initially planned for this week in Turkey, but the US later postponed it due to developments in the Middle East.
Zelensky said he had a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to discuss regional developments, particularly the fighting involving Iran. Erdogan said that conflict should not derail efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine, and urged all parties to continue negotiations without delay.
Edorgan offered to host a new round of trilateral talks in Turkey, a suggestion welcomed by Zelensky, who expressed hope that the upcoming negotiations might yield positive results.
