Ukraine’s PM resigns as part of major government reshuffle
(VOVWORLD) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has submitted his resignation to parliament, paving the way for a significant government reshuffle, Interfax reported on Tuesday.
Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that Ukraine's Parliament would dismiss the current government on Wednesday and appoint a new cabinet on Thursday.
President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday proposed First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko to take on the role of head of the new government. On X, Zelensky said this cabinet reshuffle aims to boost Ukraine’s economic potential, expand social support, and scale up defense production.
In another statement, he said that Shmyhal will play a prominent role as Minister of Defense.
