The event is expected to welcome approximately 1,300 international delegates from 85 countries and territories, including heads of state and other world leaders.

Following the opening ceremony, the program will include keynote addresses, an international Buddhist symposium, and a variety of cultural and spiritual celebrations. For the first time, 87 national Buddhist treasures will be on public display.

One of the highlights of Vesak 2025 will be the “Three-Region Ritual,” according to Venerable Thich Tam Hai, Deputy Head of the Information and Communication Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.

“This ritual honors those who sacrificed their lives for the homeland. It will feature spiritual and artistic performances representing Vietnam’s northern, central, and southern regions. The ritual will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday at Thanh Tam Pagoda, alongside other community activities,” said Venerable Hai.

Organizers emphasized that the UN Day of Vesak 2025 presents a valuable opportunity for Vietnam to showcase its culture, people, and values to the international community.
