UN Security Council to meet on North Korean missile launch

(VOVWORLD) - The UN Security Council will meet behind closed doors Monday to discuss the testing of what North Korea said was a hypersonic missile, according to diplomatic sources.

The meeting was requested by the United States, France and the United Kingdom – three of the five permanent members on the Security Council – as well as Ireland and Albania.

US and Japanese Defense and Foreign Ministers have had an online discussion on ways to strengthen security cooperation to tackle missile threats from North Korea.
