US commemorates victims of September 11 terrorist attacks
(VOVWORLD) - US President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump made a rare joint appearance on Wednesday at the New York City site that marks the September 11 plane hijacking 23 years ago that resulted in the deaths of 3,000 people and brought down the World Trade Center's twin towers.

They stood solemnly as the victims’ names were read aloud at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
The US Government “honors the extraordinary heroism on display that fateful day by ordinary Americans helping their fellow Americans,” said Harris, adding that she stands in solidarity with the victims’ families and loved ones. Biden and Harris then participated in wreath-laying ceremonies in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, and Arlington, Virginia, where two of the hijacked planes crashed.
The September 11 attacks were the deadliest terrorist attacks in history. The families of the 3,000 victims and Congress members from multiple states are pushing to declare the date the nation's 12th federal holiday.
