US Congress certifies Donald Trump's election win

(VOVWORLD) - The U.S. Congress formally certified Republican President-elect Donald Trump's election victory on Monday during a session presided over by Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.

“The whole number of the electors appointed to vote for President of the United States is 538. Within that whole number the majority is 270. The votes for President of the United States are as follows Donald J Trump of the State of Florida has received 312 votes. Kamala D. Harris of the State of California has received 226 votes.”
The announcement of the state of the vote by the President of the Senate shall be deemed a sufficient declaration of the person's elected President and Vice President of the United States each for a term beginning on January 20th, 2025.
Trump said he will hold the “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” at the Capitol One Arena in Washington DC on January 19, a day before his inauguration as the 47th US President.
