(VOVworld)- According to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the United States has offered to destroy part of Syrian chemicals on a its ship on Mediterranean sea.

Statement of OPCW said the operation would be carried out on a U.S. vessel at sea using hydrolysis. The US offered to destroy about 500 tons of strongly dangerous chemicals. Regrading the 800 tons of the less dangerous chemicals, OPCW said that 35 firms expressed an interest in destroying these remaining amount. The destroying of Syrian chemicals is set to be completed by June 30, 2014.
