(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump is open to meeting his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts in Turkey, the White House said, after the two sides failed on Monday to make headway towards a ceasefire.
Russia and Ukraine agreed to exchange more prisoners of war following the latest round of talks in Istanbul.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan earlier proposed hosting a summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and US President Donald Trump in Istanbul or Ankara later this month, in a renewed effort to end the conflict in Ukraine.
Putin has so far refused to participate in such a meeting while Zelensky said that key issues can only be resolved at leaders-level.
