It said the DOC should respect the interests of US consumers, Vietnamese farmers, and trade relations between the two countries. According to VASEP, Vietnam’s tra fish exports to the US do not affect the US’s mudfish industry but creates jobs for many Vietnamese workers and assures a stable supply of high-quality fish fillets for US consumers. VASEP called on the DOC to be fair and reasonable in its administrative review of the anti-dumping lawsuit against Vietnam’s tra fish, thereby opening a new period of cooperation, democracy, and mutual benefit for the two countries.

Earlier, the US Department of Commerce announced the final decision of its tra fish review: to continue using Indonesia as the sole benchmark for calculating anti-dumping rates even though Indonesia differs from Vietnam in breeding standards and input costs.
