Vietnam Airlines uses sustainable fuel for flights from Europe
(VOVWORLD) - Starting January 1 this year, Vietnam Airlines, the national flag carrier of Vietnam, becomes the first Vietnamese carrier using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) for all flights departing from Europe.

These flights use SAF at a rate of at least 2% which will gradually increase to 6%, 20%, and 70% in 2030, 2035, and 2050.
For flights departing from the UK, the firm uses SAF at a minimum rate of 2% from 2025, and gradually raise to 10% in 2030 and 22% in 2040.
According to Vietnam Airlines, this is a new step, implementing Vietnam's commitment to joining the international community's efforts to achieve net zero emissions by 2050.
