(VOVworld) - Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh visited Iowa to attend the US’ National Governors Association (NGA) Summer Meeting in Des Moines city on Wednesday and Thursday.

On this occasion, Ambassador Vinh met with Iowa State’s Governor Terry Branstad, attended a roundtable with leaders of some business associations in Iowa, and delivered a speech at a conference on trade, agriculture and energy within the NGA Summer Meeting.
At the meeting with Governor Branstad, Ambassador Vinh underlined new progress of the Vietnam-US ties and partnership opportunities between Vietnam and Iowa State.
Governor Branstad said he hoped to further bolster all-round cooperation with Vietnam, especially in trade. He revealed that Iowa will send a trade delegation and businesses to Vietnam in the coming time to seek partnership in new energy and discuss trade prospects on Iowa’s pork, maize, and soybean.
