Mr. Ha applauded EIB’s proposal regarding credit loans for Vietnam's energy projects, particularly offshore wind power projects and smart grid initiatives, and
informed Ms. Beer about green projects that the bank should consider for credit support, such as reducing emissions in agricultural production, developing 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice in the Mekong Delta region, and building urban and high-speed railways.
Vice-President Beer praised Vietnam’s implementation of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) framework and said the EIB will promote preferential loans for green infrastructure and green energy projects, and support green transition, decarbonisation, and emission reduction for small- and medium-sized enterprises.
The EIB, she said, will continue to share its experience with Vietnamese partners in mobilising green financial resources, building incentive mechanisms, and providing innovative financial solutions to support renewable energy, emission reduction, and climate change adaptation projects.
