Vietnam, Brazil advance strategic partnership
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed the joint statement between Vietnam and Brazil, the signing of an action plan for their strategic partnership, and, notably, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s announcement recognizing Vietnam as a market economy.

During a meeting in Hanoi on Friday with the visiting Brazilian President, PM Chinh underlined that following his visit to Brazil in November 2024 for the G20 Summit, he had instructed Vietnamese ministries and agencies to implement the commitments and agreements reached between the two countries.
Affirming Vietnam’s commitment to importing Brazilian beef, PM Chinh urged Brazil to open its market to Vietnam’s pangasius and shrimp. He also proposed that Brazil invest in a beef processing plant in Vietnam to supply neighboring countries. President Lula da Silva praised Vietnam’s progress, stating that the country is entering a “new era” of prosperity, innovation, and deeper global integration.
The same day, President Lula da Silva and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man agreed to strengthen high-level exchanges and interactions at various levels.
