During a reception for Ferreira in Hanoi on Monday, Prime Minister Phuc described the Brazilian Minister’s official visit to Vietnam as an important event to promote multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Minister Ferreira said he is impressed with growing bilateral trade, which reached 3 billion USD in 2016. He called on both countries to enhance ties in science-technology, security-defence, education-training and agriculture.

Brazil wants to export a number of products to Vietnam, including beef, and hopes to attract more investment from Vietnam, he noted.

Prime Minister Phuc said Brazil is a big market with a population of 200 million while Vietnam has almost 100 million people. Both countries have great potential for their enterprises to cooperate in investment and business activities, he stressed.
