(VOVworld) - Vietnam celebrated its 41st anniversary of national reunification on April 30 after the Great Victory in the spring of 1975.

The victory under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam ended the US new colonial regime and its aggression war. The People’s Army newspaper editorially praised the glorious victory and called for solid effort in national construction and defense, as well as successfully implementing Party resolution on national development.
Various celebrations took place nationwide to mark the event, including an art performance and firework displays in Ho Chi Minh City, jogging event, food and fashion shows in Hanoi.
Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue joined a flag hoisting ceremony in Quang Tri province’s Hien Luong river, which symbolized people’s aspiration for national unification.
