The Ambassador presided over consultations with NPT member states from the Non-Aligned Movement, the Eastern European Group, the Western European Group, and others. He also held bilateral consultations with China, Russia, the UK, France, and the US. In addition, he chaired and delivered a speech at an event jointly organized by the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs and the European Union to discuss preparations for the upcoming NPT Review Conference.

At those meetings, Vietnam was welcomed as President of the 2026 NPT Review Conference, amid growing international security complexity. Countries called on Vietnam, as President of the Conference, to approach those issues in a balanced, constructive, and pragmatic manner. Representatives said they’ll work closely with the President to achieve substantive outcomes at the conference.

Member states underlined the importance of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and its review process in maintaining international peace and security and promoting sustainable development.
