Vietnam continues cooperation with Japan in national industrialization and modernization
(VOVworld) - State President Truong Tan Sang voiced his hope for deepened wide-ranging cooperation with Japan at a reception for Vice President of Japan’s International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC) Yoshihiko Nakagaki in Hanoi on Tuesday.

The President told his guest that Vietnam’s policy to stabilise the macro-economy and rein in inflation has born fruit with economic growth averaging nearly 6 percent over the past five years. He said Japan’s foreign direct investment (FDI) and official development assistance (ODA) have significantly contributed to Vietnam’s socio-economic development. Mr. Sang said Vietnam’s upcoming 12th National Party Congress will continue to focus on renovation policy and international integration. He said he hopes Japan will continue to work with Vietnam toward full industrialization and modernization fulfillments.
Mr. Nakagaki said he hopes Vietnam will continue its sound policies amidst the world’s uncertainties. He added that along with collaboration in politics, economics and investment, the two countries should step up people-to-people exchanges to increase mutual understanding between their citizens.
